NEW SMALLER FOOTPRINT! MORE PEDALBOARD FRIENDLY!!
Designed by Todd Wolfgram, Malekko is very happy to release our all-analog Wolftone SLOIKA pedal. Featuring locally powdered and screen-printed enclosures, each pedal is built with optimal components meticulously selected from all corners of the globe.
SLOIKA is a unique distortion pedal utilizing multiple bands of distortion to simulate multiple amplifiers set at different gain levels. Capable of very heavy distortion, the SLOIKA (like all Wolftone pedals) is extremely musical and very responsive to a player’s dynamics.
SLOIKA is designed to create a transparent distortion allowing you to retain the sound of your guitar and amp. This pedal will not mask your equipment’s tone. Single or humbucking pickups are still clearly heard and articulated and you can easily modulate between light or heavy distortion using picking dynamics. Very sensitive to input levels, SLOIKA allows you to control the amount of distortion from your guitar. Want a clean sound? Just back off the guitar’s volume. Searing distortion is just a matter of playing harder or cranking the guitar volume. And SLOIKA enables a seamless transition from distortion into clean when you play a full chord and let it sustain.
The SLOIKA is a combination of 8 parallel distortion bands. The interaction between the DRIVE and SATURATE settings determines how these bands effect your sound. To really hear the strengths of this pedal, use a loud, clean amp.
The DRIVE amount determines how hot the 8 bands are, and your volume and dynamics control the distortion.
When the DRIVE is at a low setting, the first band is at 100% gain, and the subsequent bands have progressively less gain, allowing maximum reactive distortion through dynamics.
At a mid DRIVE setting, the first band is at 100% gain, and the remaining 7 bands have decreasing gain stages down to about 90% for the lowest band.
At max DRIVE setting, all bands are at 100% gain, giving you a hard wall of distortion.
When SATURATE is set low, the lowest bands will drop out of distortion earlier, allowing the guitar to become clean quicker.
With SATURATE at a higher setting, the distortion is clear and biting.
Turning SATURATE all the way up creates a softer attack with a full-on distortion feel, and a much longer distortion sustain.
Super creamy and monstrous low end is SLOIKA on bass guitar!
Another innovative WOLFTONE pedal from the mind of Todd Wolfgram!
The pedal is powered by a 9v DC adapter (neg tip) or internal battery snap. Current draw is 50mA.

If a product is defective upon arrival, or the wrong item was received, all the shipping fees will be covered by us and we will give you a store-credit refund on the original order. For defective items, Prymaxe reserves the right to refuse the return if we determine the reason for the unit failing was not covered under the warranty (i.e., if the item was damaged due to user fault or error). If you feel your item was damaged in shipping, please take plenty of pictures of the damaged box and item and immediately contact us so we can open a claim with the shipping company.
Please be very diligent with testing your defective item. Be sure to try other guitars, power supplies, cables, and amps. We also request that you take a video of the item not working. If we receive your item, test it, and find it to be working, we will give you a refund minus the cost of shipping both ways.
When must I ship my return?
Your return must be received by us within 45 days of the original purchase date for store credit, or postmarked by 14 days for a refund to the original purchase method (PayPal, credit card, etc). This means you must ship your return with enough time for us to receive the package within the deadline. If it does not arrive within 45 days, we will refuse the package. If you feel you sent the package within a reasonable time frame, but it arrived late due to the shipping company’s error, please immediately contact us to make an appeal before we refuse the package.
What if I pre-ordered an item?
If a pre-ordered item arrives outside of the 45 day window from when you ordered it, you will have 7 days from the arrival date to send it back for store credit.
Why was my package refused?
There are a number of reasons your package could be refused by us, including:
Very interesting take on the classic distortion pedal. The drive control - as expected - adds overdrive/distortion while "Saturate" brings in the sponginess and compression of a saturated power amp - without getting overly mushy, even on extreme settings. It feels like the Sloika uses separate gain stages for different frequency ranges. No trace of the usual fuzzing out when playing low strings below the 12th fret on the neck humbucker. The only flaw I found was a noticeable jump in drive between 4 and 5 o'clock on the drive control (which becomes less prevalent the louder the input signal gets).
Pretty much everything Todd set out to achieve in this pedal's design, he achieved. If you like putting an OD pedal before other dirt boxes or your amp's drive channel, this is where the pedal really excels. Designed to be transparent, it doesn't have much character of its own - it doesn't sound gritty, fizzy or "sick", and doesn't have frequency spikes or scoops. Keeping the saturate low, and finding the sweet spot on the drive control, and it'll smoothly respond to your playing dynamics. Turning the saturate up thickens the sound and makes it less responsive for when you want even output. Crank the drive and it roars, and can easily hold its own as your only dirt box if an open "clean" sounding overdrive is your thing (obviously not clean in the conventional use of the term). Used in conjunction with the rest of your gear, it'll let their character shine through, with plenty of volume adjustment/boosting to get you there.
There are other multiband drive pedals and pedal designs out there, but the Sloika is a fundamentally different beast. Other multi-bands usually have twice (or more) controls for half (or fewer) bands, with the promise that you can bend the different frequency bands every which way through a plethora of in-your-face gain stages to get any number of distinctive sounds. A tweaker's delight, but often a nightmare to set up. The Sloika is easier to use, singly focused on its objective with intuitive controls for 8 bands(!!) to achieve that goal. In essence, the Sloika uses what seems like an excessive amount of bands in order to broaden its useable range, both in responsiveness and adjustability, making it an ultimate play-nice pedal. Once your honeymoon period with tweakable gear has passed, I'd wager this would be the one to find its place on your pedalboard and stay.
