The BYOC Amp Selector and Stereo FX Router was designed to allow you to use two amps, in a multitude of ways, both safely and quietly. Its first function is as a pop-free A/B/Y box so that you can switch between two different amps, or play through two amps at the same time. Its second function is as stereo FX router. Its dual input allows you to send the left and right signals from your stereo FX units to two separate amps, so that you can have a true stereo rig without any ground loop hum and without the risk of electrical shock. You can also use it to select between two different guitar amp combos.
The BYOC Amp Selector & Stereo FX Router was also designed to take the confusion out of transformer isolated A/B/Y and router boxes. Your amp, your guitar, your cables, and all your effects, all share the same ground. When you add a second amplifier to the mix, the ground of that amp shares ground with all your other gear. Sometimes, especially if you have an older vintage amp with a two prong power cord, one amp will be grounded correctly, and the other amp will be grounded to the "hot" wire of the wall socket. Sometimes this can cause a nasty hum. And if you touch the two grounds at the same time, you'll get shocked. Sometimes, it has nothing to do with your amplifiers or gear. Sometimes you have to play in dive bars with very old and very shotty wiring. Transformer isolated A/B/Y and router boxes are useful because they allow you to use two amplifiers safely and quietly. But most A/B/Y boxes are very misleading about what they do. Most only have transformer isolation on one of the outputs. Which is perfectly fine. You only need to isolate the ground of one of the amps. But where it gets confusing is, you don't know which of the outputs has the isolated ground. And what's misleading about most other A/B/Y boxes with transformer isolation is that they make you think you still have all the benefits of transformer isolation when you use the "ground lift" switch. They tell you to turn the "ground lift" switch on if you are getting a lot of hum. But what they don't tell you is that when you turn the "ground lift" switch on, you are really connecting the grounds of the two amps you are trying to isolate. This eliminates the entire purpose of having a transformer isolated output and essentially turns your expensive amp selector into nothing more than a pop-free router.
The BYOC Amp Selector & Stereo FX Router has output transformers on both the outputs. And it has switches to allow you to turn each of them on and off independent of one another. As we've already stated, you only need to isolate the ground of one of the amps. And typically, only using one of the transformers provides the least amount of hum. But how do you know which output has the transformer? And how do you know which amp should have the isolated ground? With the BYOC Amp Selector & Stereo FX Router, it's easy to figure out and adapt to any situation, whether it be an unfamiliar club or bar, the studio, or just playing in your bedroom.
Unlike many of the passive amp selectors, the BYOC Amp Selector & Stereo FX Router features an active circuit that uses a standard 9vdc adapter, so your signal stays strong and your tone doesn't get dulled. It has two footswitches: one selects between channel A and channel B; and the other turns both channels on at the same time. It also features the highest quality nylon PC mounted jacks from Neutrik. The nylon jacks prevent the ground of the guitar cables from connecting via the enclosure, and the fact that they are PC mounted makes them very easy to solder and impossible to wire incorrectly. It also features the same blue 3PDT mechanical switch that has become the standard in boutique effects. These switches are rugged, easily replaced if you ever need to repair your amp selector, and unlike a lot of other footswitches used in amp selectors, it switches channels when you press on it, not when you release it. This is in addition to the Dual Output Transformers, each with independent ground isolation on/off switches. And it's only half the size of it's closest competitors (and less than half the price). Kit comes standard with red and green status LEDs.

All orders placed during the Black Friday sale (Thursday 11/24/16 - Monday 11/28/16) will have an extended return period to 1/15/16 (the day we must receive it by) to give your giftees a chance to try out their new gear and return it if it's not for them. Please note that all other return exclusions, conditions, and terms still apply.
If you are not 100% satisfied with your purchase, you can return it within 45 days of the original purchase date for a full refund. If an item is not received by us within the 45-day window, the package will be refused. All new items returned must be in BRAND NEW condition with zero signs of wear or use and must be returned in the original packaging with ALL materials (free/bundled items -- must be unused/unopened, warranty cards, plastic, pouches, manuals etc.).
Our 45-Day Satisfaction Guarantee covers brand new products only -- it does not cover used and clearance products (see below). It also does not cover items in the “What is NOT Returnable” list below. All Used and Vintage items come with a 48 hour approval period. Please contact us directly at firstname.lastname@example.org within 48 hours of receiving your product for us to set up a manual return for you. Be sure to include your order number and reason for return in the email. All Used/Vintage items must be returned in the same condition they were sent to you in, as well as include all materials that came with it.
All returns should be insured by the buyer and sent via UPS, Fedex, or USPS with tracking. Please do not write on or attach tape or labels to the product box -- use a packing box to return the product. Attach a shipping label with the RA number onto the shipping box.
When will I get my refund?
Once your return is received by us, your refund will typically be processed within three business days. It typically takes a few business days for all credit card refunds to be processed and reflected on your statement. This means it will take a few extra days for your refund to show in your account after your return is processed. Please note: All actual shipping fees paid by Prymaxe will be deducted from your refund. This includes orders that qualified for free or subsidized shipping. Return shipping must be paid by the buyer. If you received a defective or incorrect item, please see the next question.
What if I receive a defective or incorrect item?
If a product is defective upon arrival, or the wrong item was received, we will send you a replacement/the correct item, and all the shipping fees will be covered by us. For defective items, Prymaxe reserves the right to refuse the return if we determine the reason for the unit failing was not covered under the warranty (i.e., if the item was damaged due to user fault or error). If you feel your item was damaged in shipping, please take plenty of pictures of the damaged box and item and immediately contact us so we can open a claim with the shipping company.
Please be very diligent with testing your defective item. Be sure to try other guitars, power supplies, cables, and amps. We also request that you take a video of the item not working. If we receive your item, test it, and find it to be working, we will give you a refund minus the cost of shipping both ways.
When will I get my replacement item?
If a defective or incorrect item was sent to you, we will send out the replacement as soon as we get the defective/incorrect item back and approve/process the return (typically within three business days). If we do not have the replacement in stock, we will issue a full refund. If you need the replacement to be sent out immediately, please place a new order, and when we get the defective/incorrect item back, we will issue a full refund of the original order.
When must I ship my return?
Your return must be received by us within 45 days of the original purchase date. This means you must ship your return with enough time for us to receive the package within 45 day deadline. If it does not arrive within 45 days, we will refuse the package. If you feel you sent the package within a reasonable time frame, but it arrived late due to the shipping company’s error, please immediately contact us to make an appeal before we refuse the package.
What if I pre-ordered an item?
Even if you pre-ordered an item, we must still receive it within 45 days of your order date in order to give you a refund, so please only pre-order items you plan to keep. If your pre-ordered item arrives defective, you will have a 48 hour period to contact us for a replacement.
