We took a challenge and went a step further by designing the most compact size, top sounding, all-feature tap tempo tremolo effect pedal nowadays! Starla is a synthesis of two precisely combined electronics. It is a superb sound quality analog tremolo controlled by a versatile digital tap tempo microprocessor via optical technology – a light source and photocell.Depth
On minimum settings, Starla can be used as a signal booster. Increasing the depth control, increases the tremolo effect in your signal; from light shimmering, through mild transparent-traditional, all the way to a deep swings and ‘machine gun-like’ sounds. Thanks to a huge depth range, this tremolo is able to chop up any signal sent in or out of it. It is very useful when put in front of high gain amps or pedals as it can cut the sound down to a dead silence.
There are 3 ways to set the speed of the tremolo effect: by using a speed knob, tap tempo footswitch or control voltage/remote tap switch via Sync port. Speed is affected by the position of the Multiplier (1/3/2) toggle switch. If the Multiplier switch is set at a higher rate, speed knobs sweep will change as well.
Starla utilizes eight different waveforms, including a random one. Combining every waveform with Duty trim potentiometer produces numerous wave shapes for you to explore. Duty trimmer pot modifies the duty cycle of all waveforms except Random.
We added volume control for two reasons: first to avoid a noticeable drop in volume when effect is engaged, which is a problem most tremolos have, and second to be able to use Starla as an excellent volume booster without adding any distortion to the signal when Depth control is on minimum setting.
This port allows Starla to communicate with other devices. Depending on how the internal jumper is set up (remove the backplate to reach the jumper), Starla can send control signal to synchronize other devices to its’ LFO rate or it can accept control signal to be synchronized by other devices. It can also accept remote tap foot switch.
Starla’s tap tempo microprocessor calculates tempo by taking the last two user taps so it plays in sync with your music. You can also choose different tap to tremolo rate ratios using 1/3/2 Multiplier switch: 1:1, 1:2 and 1:3. Once a tempo has been tapped in, Multiplier switch serves as an in-time speed control.
Starla Tap Tempo Tremolo is equipped with microprocessor driven true bypass relay switching system. Holding down Status footswitch during the power up allows you to preset whether the effect powers up in effect-on or effect-bypass mode.
We are very proud of our Starla Tap Tempo Tremolo effect pedal and we believe it will inspire you to be even more creative in making music! Enjoy!

Please be very diligent with testing your defective item. Be sure to try other guitars, power supplies, cables, and amps. We also request that you take a video of the item not working. If we receive your item, test it, and find it to be working, we will give you a refund minus the cost of shipping both ways and charge a 20% restocking fee.

This means you must ship your return with enough time for us to receive the package within the deadline. If it does not arrive within 45 days, we will refuse the package. If you feel you sent the package within a reasonable time frame, but it arrived late due to the shipping company’s error, please immediately contact us to make an appeal before we refuse the package.
What if I pre-ordered an item?
If a pre-ordered item arrives outside of the 45 day window from when you ordered it, you will have 7 days from the arrival date to send it back for store credit.
Why was my package refused?
There are a number of reasons your package could be refused by us, including:
Love the size and flexibility of this trem. Excellent build quality. It has a very clean tonality, which some may very much like. I personally like something a bit more amp like. I usually tune my trem pedals to my tube amp(s) trem as close as possible. My V.1 Supa Trem still sounds the most amp like to me. I couldn't quite get the Starla to my happy place.
the smallest and coolest tremolo in the world!
choose between this and the Zvex sonar, but I was amazed at the richness of sound this little box.
Dawner Prince Effects STARLA - hands down
Zvex - go to sleep ))
This pedal is amazing. I tried it as soon as I got home from work and , even though I had plans to meet some friends, I kept them waiting. Once I started playing, I couldn't stop. It was so much fun. the tone is superb and the flexibility is endless. I had tried others and this was by far my favourite.
I should add that I was wondering if I could get by simply using the tremolo on my amp. There is no comparison. You'll love it !
"We all know the legendary versatility of the Swiss Army Knife, however it is now time to extol the virtues of a Croatian Tremolo Pedal. The Starla by Dawner Prince Effects is the offspring of the mastermind known to me only as Zoran the Great. This unassuming purple box boasts the most utile tremolo engine I have ever come across. Not only does it satisfy every possible waveform for slicing and dicing you signal, it is continuously variable between waveforms allowing for new hybrids to further craft your sound. This masterpiece even comes with a potentiometer to adjust duty so that you can slant the waveform for further sound exploration. The depth helps this effect go from a gentle nuance to a raging laser beam. The circuitry in the Starla is so pure that just turning it on with effect saturation rolled completely down, can improve the quality of the signal. As if this was not enough, there is a tap tempo with a sync output! Welcome to the last tremolo you will ever buy. Thank you Zoran!!" Matty-T (Scientist)
Been using it for month now and I can say - this pedal is truly wonderful piece of kit!!
I hardly ever turn it off since I also use it as a signal booster with volume above 12 and depth all the way down- it purifies the guitar signal a lot!
Absolutely the smoothest and quietest tremolo I have ever tried! A++
