PARABOLA™ is the sonic equivalent of riding your space mammoth through giant puddles in the astral plane while feeding it extra-caffeinated energy drinks.
Think of this as your rig’s new “tremolo channel”. We’ve adapted the deliciously sloshy, transistor-based LFO and distinctive waveform from our favorite “West German” device, modified its speed and depth ranges to match and go beyond those of your favorite classic amps, and then added pre and post effect gain stages for both overdrive and volume boost. Then we offer the classic, dramatic amplitude modulation (AM) you might expect, or a filtered frequency-based modulation (FM) that is subtle, beautiful, and less invasive on your playing.
In this pedal, HavocTM increases the speed and depth of the effect. To give your effect a little juice, hit it and hold it down, then release to come back to your settings. Or, leave the depth all the way off, and hit Havoc for momentary bursts of tremolo.
Designer’s note: One of the things that I’m most excited about with Parabola is the sound quality. I loved how the old Schaller TR-68’s transistor based oscillator and feel had a wonderful, very “Wim Wenders/Hal Hartley early days of indie film soundtracks” vibe. But the originals had some issues. The input would get loaded down a lot, and there was a definite volume drop when you’d use the effect. As a result, they were great to record with – you’d adjust your EQ to work with the constraints – but live use could be tough, and that’s before we even get to the very bunched up potentiometer tapers or limited speed ranges.
So with improved input impedance and gain staging, we’ve been able to recapture the lush sound that I loved about the originals, but give you plenty of first stage gain AND a second stage volume boost, keep it entirely analog and transistor based, and maintain that sound and vibe that may not be for everyone, but is something I find specific and beautiful. The speed ranges have been improved to go from AC-30TM style slow speeds to faster than Fender® “Silverface" levels of fast, the depth control actually does cool things before 3:00, and the AM/FM modes have to be heard to be believed.

What if I receive a defective or incorrect item?
If a product is defective upon arrival, or the wrong item was received, all the shipping fees will be covered by us and we will send you a replacement once the original item is received. If for any reason a replacement wont be available for a significant amount of time, we will issue you a store credit to use on another item. For defective items, Prymaxe reserves the right to refuse the return if we determine the reason for the unit failing was not covered under the warranty (i.e., if the item was damaged due to user fault or error). If you feel your item was damaged in shipping, please take plenty of pictures of the damaged box and item and immediately contact us so we can open a claim with the shipping company.
Please be very diligent with testing your defective item. Be sure to try other guitars, power supplies, cables, and amps. We also request that you take a video of the item not working. If we receive your item, test it, and find it to be working, we will give you a refund minus the cost of shipping both ways and charge a 20% restocking fee.
When must I ship my return?
Your return must be received by us within 45 days of the original purchase date for store credit, or postmarked by 14 days for a refund to the original purchase method (PayPal, credit card, etc). This means you must ship your return with enough time for us to receive the package within the deadline. If it does not arrive within 45 days, we will refuse the package. If you feel you sent the package within a reasonable time frame, but it arrived late due to the shipping company’s error, please immediately contact us to make an appeal before we refuse the package.
What if I pre-ordered an item?
If a pre-ordered item arrives outside of the 45 day window from when you ordered it, you will have 7 days from the arrival date to send it back for store credit.
Why was my package refused?
There are a number of reasons your package could be refused by us, including:
I really love the sound of this pedal but I can not have it on my board as it does not go slow enough for me.
I´m really used to the Boss and Fulltone tremolos and this pedal sound more interesting but this thing with the speed is really disappointing.
On more thing is that the attack and release on the Havoc switch is so fast, I would love to have it a little more decay but that´s just my taste.
I've been waiting a long time for this one. I've watched all the demos and did all the research... surpassed all expectations. the mojo lives deep within the Invader and Depth ****. Its crazy dynamic in a simple layout. the depth **** can chop hard when turned up and lower settings can give it a chewy harmonic tremolo sound. Theres tons of volume on board and the invader **** can give it that perfect low gain thump living in our amps. I recommend this pedal to anyone looking for something beyond a standard tremolo.
another fun, useful, musical pedal from caroline guitar company. choppy and warble-y. i'm a sucker for their havoc switches.
