Pulse™ is an open cabinet revolving speaker emulator, inspired by Pink Floyd’s legendary rotary speaker Doppola and Gibson’s® Maestro Rover RO-1.
Revolving speaker cabinet is one of the highest revered musical devices, but recreating it soundwise in the pedal form is quite a challenge. We spent countless hours on R&D, measuring every detail on a real physical model and using advanced math to emulate its complex sound image along with all the physics and mechanics behind it. And it’s all in there - a realistic three-dimensional sound that swirls as the speaker accelerates, exact spatial modulation and the feel of the air moving with every spin.
Pulse utilizes stereo outputs, an external input for an expression pedal or remote speed switch and seven onboard controls covering every feature of the speaker cabinet, all packed in a compact Hammond® 1590BB sized enclosure.
It is modeled upon classics to become a classic.
Controls the speed of the speaker rotation when the unit is in SLOW mode. Minimum setting yields the slowest speed of 0.4 revolutions per second and maximum setting yields the fastest speed of 4 revolutions per second.
Controls the speed of the speaker rotation when the unit is in FAST mode. Minimum setting yields the slowest speed of 4 revolutions per second and maximum setting yields the fastest speed of 8 revolutions per second.
Distance is an accurate virtual microphone placement control. It sets the distance between virtual microphones and the revolving speaker cabinet. Minimum setting is the furthest distance and maximum setting is the closest distance.
Controls the amount of time it takes for the speaker to accelerate from SLOW to FAST and to decelerate from FAST to SLOW mode.
Controls the amount of dry input signal from the FET preamp in the output mixer. Minimum setting is 100% dry, maximum setting is 100% wet. 12:00 position yields 50% - 50% wet-dry mix.
True Bypass switching system with status LED
Switches the effect ON and OFF. When in ON mode, status LED will glow yellow.
Fast/Slow switching system with status LEDs
Switches between SLOW and FAST speaker rotation. Yellow LED indicates SLOW mode and blue LED indicates FAST mode.
TRS Stereo Input
Accepts either mono or TRS stereo signals selectable via internal jumper. However, for the rotary effect only the TIP IN (right) is used. In bypass mode both TIP (right) and RING (left) inputs are routed to the corresponding outputs in stereo. The pedal ships preset in mono mode.
Output R MONO/Output L
PULSE provides a stereo output by two virtual microphones placed on each side of the speaker cabinet. Using solely OUT R - MONO output engages a single virtual microphone in front of the speaker cabinet.
Accepts expression pedal or remote switch connection for external speed control. To use an expression pedal, plug it in, set it to minimum (HEEL) position and adjust SLOW SPEED potentiometer to desired value. Now set the pedal to its maximum (TOE) position and adjust FAST SPEED potentiometer to desired value. Finally, move the pedal back and forth to hear the results. To use the remote switch, connect SPDT (ON/ON) switch wired TIP - center lug, RING - outer lug, SLEEVE - second outer lug. Onboard SLOW/FAST switch is automatically disengaged when expression pedal or remote switch is connected. For expression pedal we suggest using Roland® EV-5 but it will operate with almost any type of pedal available.
Volume R/Volume L
Control the levels of the output signals on OUT R and OUT L channels. Unity gain is at 12:00 position. When using Pulse in mono out mode, make sure to set both trimmers at the same level to maintain realistic revolving speaker effect.

What if I receive a defective or incorrect item?
If a product is defective upon arrival, or the wrong item was received, all the shipping fees will be covered by us and we will send you a replacement once the original item is received. If for any reason a replacement wont be available for a significant amount of time, we will issue you a store credit to use on another item. For defective items, Prymaxe reserves the right to refuse the return if we determine the reason for the unit failing was not covered under the warranty (i.e., if the item was damaged due to user fault or error). If you feel your item was damaged in shipping, please take plenty of pictures of the damaged box and item and immediately contact us so we can open a claim with the shipping company.
Please be very diligent with testing your defective item. Be sure to try other guitars, power supplies, cables, and amps. We also request that you take a video of the item not working. If we receive your item, test it, and find it to be working, we will give you a refund minus the cost of shipping both ways and charge a 20% restocking fee.
When must I ship my return?
Your return must be received by us within 45 days of the original purchase date for store credit, or postmarked by 14 days for a refund to the original purchase method (PayPal, credit card, etc). This means you must ship your return with enough time for us to receive the package within the deadline. If it does not arrive within 45 days, we will refuse the package. If you feel you sent the package within a reasonable time frame, but it arrived late due to the shipping company’s error, please immediately contact us to make an appeal before we refuse the package.
What if I pre-ordered an item?
If a pre-ordered item arrives outside of the 45 day window from when you ordered it, you will have 7 days from the arrival date to send it back for store credit.
Why was my package refused?
There are a number of reasons your package could be refused by us, including:
It has everything I was looking for in a rotary pedal, with the sound being most important of all, and it delivers.
All the features I want, and none I don't want, simple to use.
The most important aspects I appreciate in this pedal is that first it does not mess with the original tone. Too many other modulation or time based based effects change the base tone, i don't that, I just want the effect!
The mix **** is vitally important, this can make the effect subtle, or very pronounced, the user can choose.
My only complaint is the volume difference on the mix **** when it is 100% wet or 100% dry, then the volume drops when the mix is in the middle. This can be adjusted with volume controls for both left and right outputs, but still leaves a problem if 100% wet or dry being louder
Plugged it in and immediately loved the tone and variety of sounds. Sounds incredible and is extremely versatile. I feel like it captures the best parts of flange, phaser and chorus. Fast switch is incredibly useful. Love it!
As quoted from gilmourish, "The Pulse can do a pretty good Yamaha RA200 tone for the Animals and Wall stuff but it really has a unique tone that’s much more suited for David’s 90s rotary tones....
This is obviously not just another attempt at making a Leslie sounding pedal but a super accurate replication of a sound unique to David Gilmour."
I find these statements to be pretty accurate.
Great rotary speakers
A very mystical pedal. I call it kind of a catch all for modulation. It’s got a lot going - phasery, chorusy, flangey, rotary all in one. Interactive controls so you can have it as subtle or forward as you want. Sounds great clean and distorted. Really adds something special to the tone palette.
